ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING and ELECTIONS
We have been re-miss in not reporting the outcomes of the AGM and the elections held 22nd February 2004. Members were presented with the audited financial statements by Treasurer JOHN O’GRADY which were passed unanimously after a few questions were answered. Re-elected were NICK BEGAKIS as President, JOHN O’GRADY as Treasurer and SIEGFRIED POHLENZ as Membership Officer. Subsequent to the AGM, BILL TOUBAKARIS was approached by the committee and co-opted as General Committee Member. Some discussion occurred about the types of events members wanted and on methods of increasing membership. One suggestion, that of flyers that members could distribute, has already been actioned. If members require more copies, please contact a Committee Member. Immediately after the AGM, a light supper was enjoyed by members.

Good to see JOHN BONOMI band CHARLES CLEMENTE back on the scene again. Welcome. And if you are wondering who has the surname TROMP, it’s none other than our CLAUDIE TROMP, previously VASSEUR.
KNOCK TOURNAMENT— APRIL 2005
The APRIL KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT [see score sheet to the right] was won by CHRIS BENHAM [there is that name again] from JOHN O’GRADY. The next monthly tournament is to be held on TUESDAY—May 3rd.

LEAGUE PLAYOFFS—END OF SEASON
This year we have experienced significant delays in sorting out Club Champion for 2004, not yet having determined the winner of the second half of 2004. One suggestion is that the first round of the 10 players in the playoffs [4 players], must conclude their best of 3 games by the week after the cut-off date. The next round by the end of the following week, and so on. This should result in an outcome within a few weeks. If the scheduled games are not played, ie one or both players do not front to play that week, then whoever does not front, forfeits. Members comments are sought on this suggestion and any others they may have.
