ANGIE HAMBOUR MEMORIAL DOUBLE ELIMINATION
BACKGAMMON TOURNAMENT.
As the title suggest, players had two chances before complete elimination. While only ten players entered, the competition was fierce, as it usually is. First round losers included Don Schulz, John O’Grady, Angelo Ali , Chris Benham and Philip Vivian. The one time losers fought it out and Chris Benham knocked out John O’Grady, Nick Begakis, John McLean, Nick Papadopoulos and Seigfried Pohlenz to reach the final. Of the “no loss” winners, Terry Efthimiou knocked out John O’Grady, John McLean and Seigfried Pohlenz to make the final. As the score sheet shows, Chris Benham made a great start winning a backgammon, but it was all downhill from then, losing 3-14 to Terry Efthimiou. Well done Terry! And our thanks go to the HILTON HOTEL for their sponsorship and dinner for two in the Brasserie for the winner.

KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT - AUGUST 2005
The demand for the AUGUST KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT was such that we organised two events of eight players, cunningly called the No1 and No2 tournaments. Well done to Bill Toubakaris and John McLean. Our commiserations to Nick Papadopoulos and Chris Benham.
