KNOCK TOURNAMENT— DECEMBER 2004

The DECEMBER KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT was again popular and filled early. We strongly urge all intending players to not rock up on the night and expect entry. The final was between CHRIS BENHAM and DON SCHULZ with CHRIS BENHAM victorious. CHRIS BENHAM is making a habit of winning having been victorious in the recent SPRING BACKGAMMON TOURNMENT. And DON SCHULZ is again in the finals circle having won the NOVEMBER KNOCK-OUT TOURNAMENT.

These players now play the best of 3—7 point matches to determine who gets to play 1st half winner, BILL TOUBAKARIS for 2004 CLUB CHAMPION.

It was noted that 10th spot was contested by BILL KORALLIS. A “count back” occurred looking at the relative performance of JOHN O’GRADY and BILL TOUBAKARIS and JOHN just scraped through. The value of playing that one more match is a great example here.
