Sydney Backgammon

Starting April 11 2010, regular tournament backgammon returned to Sydney!

"I will be starting up a new monthly backgammon tournament starting this month in the aim of introducing new players to the game and those that already play but may not want to enter the bigger tournaments. The aim is to get together once a month for a knockout style tournament and have a leaderboard in place over the year to be both social and competitive at the same time. If you want to come every month, great... if you want to just come along whenever you can make it, then that's fine as well. The more the merrier ! If you do have a board, can you please bring it with you, at this stage we need to rely on at least 1 in 2 people bringing boards with them. If you don't have one, that's fine, come along, i'm sure we'll have enough there.

GOLD COAST

MORETON BAY - The Queensland Bay Backgammers are "a social circle who pull the boards out now and then". They hold occasional tournaments in the Moreton Bay area near Brisbane in Queensland. More info including contact details, a map and latest tournament results can be found here.

Tasmanian Backgammon Association

The club meets Tuesdays from 7.30pm at the Welcome Stranger Hotel on the corner of Davey and Harrington Streets in Hobart (Opposite St Davids Park).  The club welcomes any new players who wish to join (beginners and players of all standards). A round robin competition and social games can be found on club nights.

Australian Backgammon League

Players are invited to become members and play on-line Australia Wide and start playing in March 2013.
So take some time to have a look at their site http://www.australianbackgammonleague.com and let the organisers know if there are any problems in using it. The site is very new, like its organisers, so any feedback would be appreciated. The ABL will be sending posts from their FORUM to your registered email address, so please consider reading and responding to the topics raised. They are committed to open communication between players so that ABL work for all players. Any questions please do not hesitate to contact ABL via their website or e-mail.
