Division - field of
32 players; 9-point matches. Entry Fees and Prize MoneyChampionship Division
$100 each entry.
Intermediate Division
(Cubeless) - $10 each entry. A further $360
has been provided by sponsors to bring the total prize pool to $1000.
Note: all entry fees
paid by participants are returned as prize money, and there are no registration
fees. Prize pool is enhanced by sponsorship money, and all prizes will
be paid in cash at the end of the day. In addition the winners and runners-up
for each division will each receive a trophy. Matches played in the Intermediate Division are cubeless - this serves to reduce the skill advantage of experienced players and is designed to encourage broad participation from casual and ethnic-type players. Gammons and backgammons will count as normal. The Intermediate Division aims to attract 64 total entries (including buy-backs) which should provide opportunity for players eliminated from the Championship Division to continue playing throughout the day. A full set of tournament rules will be published shortly and available to all players on the day. The Tournament will be run by a disinterested (i.e he will not play in the events) Tournament Director.
The venue

railway station. Smoking and non-smoking areas will be available to
players, with choice of seating given to non-smoker. Food will be available
from the Hotel throughout the day. For more information or to pre-register, contact Tournament Director Mark Driver:
